Youth idol of the 90-ies, – no disco got along without his foot tapping dance hits. In 1993, his first dance pop-hit “What is love” was released. It is a catch song that is still being played in all the discos all over this planet. The song became „bread” for remix masters for a long time, and they provided it a non-wilting image. Like winking the promising composition has become a seasonal hit already in its first year. It received gold and platinum awards in Germany, the USA, Great Britain, France, Canada and other places for more than million sold discs.

Soon after a concert version of "What is love” appeared. It was played at the radio stations, TV channels and discos numerous times and together with the ballad “I miss you” made this year very successful for the album, named after the performer Haddaway. Of course, also other awards were quick enough to follow: the album received also golden awards of ECHO-Award, RSH and BRAVO-Otto. Also during the next year after "What is love”, Haddaway, the native of Trinidad, was unstoppable in his way to fame: he occupied the first places of music top charts after hits ''Rock My Heart'', ''Fly Away'' and ''Lover Be The Name'' were released. Only in England, the musician was on the top of the most prestigious charts almost a year (52 weeks) and it is the first and up until now the only, such a level achievement among German performers. However, many things have changed since then. Currently the musician has left the stage and does not regale his fans with new compositions.

The last reminder to the world about his creative work was a film “Night at the Roxbury” that was made in 1999, at the CBS studio “Saturday Night Live” and where composition “What is love” was used as the main sound track.
